Copy blank text in one click
Copy Blank Text is a free invisible text generator. Use it for WhatsApp, Instagram, Discord, TikTok, and game names. You need no account, and nothing leaves your browser.
What blank text is
Blank text is made from invisible Unicode characters. Unicode is the standard that gives every letter, symbol, and space its own code point. It now covers more than 150,000 characters. A few of them have no visible glyph, so they show up as empty space.
These characters work like any other text. You can copy them, paste them, and send them. The app sees them. You do not.
People also call this invisible text, empty text, or a blank character. The idea is the same. You copy something that looks like nothing.
How to copy blank text
- Pick a character. Braille Pattern Blank suits messages. Hangul Filler suits names.
- Set the amount. One character is enough in most apps. Add more for a wider gap or a taller blank message.
- Copy it. Press the copy button. The tool confirms when the text is on your clipboard.
- Paste and test. Paste into your app, then send or save. The tool page has a test box if you want to check first.
Why a normal space does not work
Apps trim spaces. A message that holds only spaces becomes an empty string, and most apps refuse to send an empty string. The same check blocks blank names and bios.
The trim check looks for characters in the Unicode White_Space group. Braille Pattern Blank, Hangul Filler, and Zero Width Space are not in that group. Em Space and Ideographic Space are. That one fact explains most of the results people see. The first three often pass, while the last two are often trimmed.
Blank characters compared
Each character has its own width and its own odds of working. The table covers the most useful ones.
| Character | Code point | Width | Trimmed as space? | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Braille Pattern Blank | U+2800 | Normal | Usually no | Empty chat messages |
| Hangul Filler | U+3164 | Wide | Usually no | Usernames, nicknames, bios |
| Halfwidth Hangul Filler | U+FFA0 | Narrow | Usually no | Tight name fields |
| Zero Width Space | U+200B | None | Usually no | Hidden spacing inside text |
| Em Space | U+2003 | Wide | Often yes | Visible gaps in longer text |
| Ideographic Space | U+3000 | Wide | Often yes | Full-width gaps |
Where people use blank text
Chat apps come first. WhatsApp, Telegram, and Messenger block empty messages, so a blank character gives people a way to send a silent reply or a visual pause.
Social profiles come second. Instagram and TikTok users add blank characters to bios, captions, and display names. The goal is clean spacing or a name that looks minimal.
Gaming and Discord come third. Many games reject names made of spaces. A filler character can fill a nickname or a clan tag, though some games filter it as well. Designers also use blank characters for spacing in form fields that trim regular spaces.
Platforms change filters often, so a result today may differ next month. Use the test box on the tool page, then check in your own app. Please follow each platform's rules and use blank text kindly.
Common problems and fixes
- The app will not send the message. Switch to Braille Pattern Blank, or try a different character from the tool.
- A box or question mark shows up. The font on that device does not support the character. Try Hangul Filler or Zero Width Space.
- The name field says invalid. The field may block filler characters. Add a visible letter or symbol next to the blank character.
- The text vanished after pasting. The app trimmed it. Use a non-space character such as Braille Pattern Blank.
- The gap looks too small or too large. Change the amount, or pick a character with a different width.
One more detail matters for length limits. Each blank character counts as one character in most apps. In storage, though, it can take up to 3 bytes. A 50-character name box may hold fewer blanks than you expect when the app counts bytes.
Use blank text with care
Blank text is a harmless trick in most cases. It can still cause trouble. A blank name can make a person hard to find or report. Blank messages can annoy people in a group chat. Screen readers may also read the characters aloud as silence or skip them without warning.
Keep those points in mind, and never use blank text to dodge moderation or mislead anyone. Our Terms of Use and Disclaimer explain the limits in full.
Frequently asked questions
What is blank text?
Blank text is a string of Unicode characters that take up space but draw no visible shape. Apps still count them as real characters. That is why a message made of them looks empty.
Why can't I send a normal empty message?
Most apps trim regular spaces before they send. If nothing is left, the send button stays off. Blank Unicode characters are not on the trim list in many apps, so they pass.
Which blank character works best?
Braille Pattern Blank (U+2800) is the usual first pick for chat messages. Hangul Filler (U+3164) is the usual pick for usernames. Support changes with app updates, so test both.
Is Copy Blank Text free?
Yes. You need no account, and there is no limit on how often you copy.
Does the site save what I generate?
No. Your browser builds the text on your device. It never goes to our servers.
Why did my app reject the blank text?
The app may filter that character, or the field may need a visible character. Pick another character in the tool and try again. A shorter run can also help.
Can I use blank text in a username?
Sometimes. Many platforms allow Hangul Filler in display names, but not in handles or login names. Read the naming rules for your platform first.
How many blank characters can I copy at once?
The tool allows 1 to 500. One is enough in most apps. Longer runs only help when you need a wider gap or a taller empty message.
